M Squared T's Name Print E-mail
Written by Matthew M Thomas

The name of the site, "M Squared T", stems from a joke.  Those with a math background will get it.  Those that don't, well, hang on, you probably will, too!

Matt's initials are MMT.  If one considers that M and T are real mathematical variables  in the set "initials," then the expression MMT could also be expressed as

  1. (M)(M)(T)
  2. M x M x T
  3. (M^2)(T)
Given that M2T is, in fact, the mathematically simplest form of expression for MMT, it is preferred.  However, since this simplest expression is difficult to express on a single line of text without superscripts, parentheses are needed to designate which groupings of operators should be combined.  Therefore, it behooves the writer to express M2T as M Squared T, eliminating potential confusion.

Moving on...
