The name of the site, "M Squared T", stems from a joke. Those with a math background will get it. Those that don't, well, hang on, you probably will, too! Matt's initials are MMT. If one considers that M and T are real mathematical variables in the set "initials," then the expression MMT could also be expressed as
Given that M2T is, in fact, the mathematically simplest form of expression for MMT, it is preferred. However, since this simplest expression is difficult to express on a single line of text without superscripts, parentheses are needed to designate which groupings of operators should be combined. Therefore, it behooves the writer to express M2T as M Squared T, eliminating potential confusion. Moving on... |
